How do I prepare my washer for vacation or long periods of non-use?

If you will be away for an extended period, unplug the washer or disconnect power and turn off the water supply to the washer to help avoid flooding due to a water pressure surge. You should also leave the door slightly open to provide ventilation. (Page 20)
