How do I winterize my washing machine if I'm storing it during freezing weather?

Put 1 quart of R.V.-type antifreeze in the drum and run the Drain/Spin cycle. Then unplug the washer, shut off both water faucets, and disconnect the water inlet hoses from the faucets and drain them. To use it again, flush water pipes, reconnect the hoses, turn on faucets, plug in the washer, and run a Normal cycle with ½ the recommended amount of HE detergent to remove the antifreeze.
