Why is my washing machine making unusual noises?

New washers produce various sounds that are normal during operation, including sounds when the door locks/unlocks and during washing, rinsing, or spinning. You may also hear water spraying and momentary pauses between wash actions. Metal items like zippers or buckles may touch the drum. If the washer is properly leveled and all four shipping bolts were removed, these sounds are part of normal operation.
