Why are there too many suds in my washing machine?

Excessive suds are typically caused by using the wrong type of detergent, having very soft water, or using too much detergent. Switch to a lower-sudsing detergent brand, and measure your detergent carefully — use less if you have soft water, a smaller load, or a lightly soiled load. (Page 11)
