How do I protect the washing machine if it will be stored in freezing temperatures?

Turn off the water supply tap, disconnect hoses and drain water from them, then add 1 gallon (3.8L) of non-toxic recreational vehicle (RV) antifreeze into the empty wash drum and run a spin cycle for 1 minute. Unplug the electrical cord, dry the drum interior, remove and drain the dispenser drawer, and store the washer upright. After storage, run an empty complete wash cycle with detergent (no laundry) to remove the antifreeze before use. (Page 22)
