What is the recommended cleaning procedure for my washing machine?

The washer maintenance procedure should be performed at least once per month or every 30 wash cycles, whichever comes sooner. For optimal cleaning, add 1 cup (236 mL) of liquid chlorine bleach to the wash basket, close the lid, select the Heavy Duty cycle, and press Start without adding any detergent or other chemicals. Do not interrupt the cycle.
