Why is my washing machine vibrating or shaking excessively?

Check that the front and rear feet are in firm contact with the floor and that the washer is level. Verify the load is balanced and not tightly packed. If the floor is uneven, place a 3/4 inch (19 mm) piece of plywood under the washer to reduce vibration. Wash smaller loads and avoid washing single items to reduce imbalance.
