How should I load clothes into the washer correctly?

Load dry items loosely, no higher than the top row of holes in the washer tub, and ensure the water level just covers the clothes. Add detergent and start the washer before adding clothes so the detergent can work effectively, and do not wrap large items like sheets around the agitator. Note that agitation will not start with the lid up. (Page 9)
