What should I do if the washer is making loud knocking noises?

The washer may be noisy because it is uneven, the load is unbalanced, the shipping rod is still installed, or the washer is too close to the wall. To fix an unbalanced load, push the Cycle knob in to stop the washer, open the lid, and redistribute the load evenly. Pull the washer about 4 inches (11 cm) away from the wall, and remove the shipping rod by pulling the yellow tag from the bottom right-hand side of the washer. (Page 13)
