Why are my clothes coming out with lint or residue on them?

Lint or residue on clothes can be caused by incorrect sorting, overloading, detergent not dissolving, or incorrect use of fabric softener. Make sure to separate lint producers from lint collectors, load clothes no higher than the top row of holes in the washer tub, and add detergent as the wash basket fills with water before loading clothes. Trying a liquid detergent or using warmer water temperature can also help the detergent dissolve more effectively. (Page 12)
