Red (positive) clamp connected to negative terminal or black (negative) clamp connected to positive terminal.

✓ How to Fix It

  1. Immediately disconnect both clamps from the vehicle battery.
  2. Reconnect the red clamp to the positive terminal.
  3. Reconnect the black clamp to a solid, unpainted metal part of the vehicle's frame or engine block away from the battery.
