29 totalHow do I restore the Energy Star default program settings on the TH6110D?
To restore Energy Star default settings, press SET CLOCK/DAY/SCHEDULE, then press SET SCHEDULE, then press DONE and NEXT at the same time for 4 seconds. The default settings are pre-programmed energy-saving levels that assume you wake at 6 am, leave at 8 am, return at 6 pm, and go to bed at 10 pm. These settings can reduce your heating/cooling expenses by as much as 33%. (Page 18, 10)
Why is 'Cool On' or 'Heat On' flashing on my display?
The flashing 'Cool On' or 'Heat On' message means the built-in compressor protection feature is engaged. This feature forces the compressor to wait a few minutes before restarting to prevent damage from restarting too soon after shutdown. Wait 5 minutes for the system to restart safely, and the message will stop flashing when the safe wait time has elapsed. (Page 15, 19)
How do I set the time and day on the TH6110D thermostat?
Press the SET CLOCK/DAY/SCHEDULE button, then press the up or down arrow to set the clock time. Next, press the SET DAY button and use the arrows to select the current day of the week, then press DONE to save and exit. Note that if the display flashes 'Set Clock,' the thermostat will follow your weekday 'Wake' settings until the time and day are properly set. (Page 6)
How often should I replace the batteries in my TH6110D thermostat?
Batteries should be replaced once a year, or before leaving home for more than a month. You should also install fresh batteries immediately when the REPLACE BATTERY warning begins flashing, which appears about two months before the batteries are fully depleted. If batteries are inserted within two minutes of removal, the time and day will not need to be reset, as all other settings are permanently stored in memory. (Page 17)
What is the minimum temperature separation required when using Auto Changeover mode?
When using Auto Changeover (Auto system setting), the heat and cool temperature settings must be at least 3 degrees apart. The thermostat will automatically adjust settings to maintain this 3-degree separation, which is called the 'deadband.' This 3-degree separation is fixed and cannot be changed. (Page 14)
How do I permanently override the program schedule to hold a single temperature?
Press the HOLD button to permanently override all programmed temperature settings. The 'Hold' feature turns off the program schedule and allows you to manually adjust the thermostat as needed, maintaining whatever temperature you set 24 hours a day. To cancel the Hold setting and resume the programmed schedule, press RUN SCHEDULE. (Page 13)

Cool On Fan Auto System Cool Set Clock/Day/ Schedule ° ° This feature helps prevent damage to the compressor in your air conditioning or heat pump system. Damage can occur if the compressor is re- started too soon after shutdown. This feature forces the compressor to wait for a few minutes before restarting. During the wait time, the display will flash the message Cool On (or Heat On if you have a heat pump). When the safe wait time has elapsed, the message stops flashing and the compressor turns on. Message flashes until safe restart time has elapsed 75Operating Manual 16 Adaptive Intelligent Recovery™(AIR) Adaptive Intelligent Recovery eliminates guesswork when setting your schedule. It allows the thermostat to “learn”how long your furnace and air conditioner take to reach the temperature you want. Just set your program schedule to the time you want the house to reach your desired temperature. The thermostat then turns on the heating or cooling at just the right time to reach your scheduled temperature at your scheduled time. For example: Set the Wake time to 6 am, and the temperature to 70°.The heat will come on before 6 am, so the temperature is 70° by the time you wake at 6. Note: When Adaptive Intelligent Recovery is in effect, the thermostat will display “In Recovery”.
